Mark Karetin's main areas of practice are bankruptcy, construction, banking and energy law. He completed a professional development programme at the Faculty of Law of Lomonosov Moscow State University.

In 2014 he passed the qualifying examination for admission to the Moscow Bar Association.

Professional experience

From 2006 to 2013 Mark worked at Stroytransgaz, one of Russia's largest construction companies, gaining an understanding of in-house legal processes and business needs.

He joined Yukov and Partners in 2013 and is now a Senior Partner.

Representing Russian and international companies, he has gained experience in courts at all levels, including the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation.

Alongside his legal practice, he speaks at Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, the Institute for the Development of Modern Educational Technologies (IRSOT) and the Pravo TEK school.

His major clients include Promsvyazbank, SUEK, Rosseti Siberia, Rosseti South and Mostotrest.

He represents Promsvyazbank in proceedings against former shareholders to invalidate transactions involving the bank's securities and recover damages. At the time of filing, the damages claim was one of the largest in Russian judicial practice.

He is listed by Best Lawyers in Appellate Practice and Litigation.

Pravo.ru-300 recommended him in Commercial Litigation in 2019–2020.

In 2021 Kommersant's individual ranking of lawyers recognised him in Public-Private Partnership and Energy and Natural Resources.
